How it works
Whether you are looking into in-home care in St. Louis for a parent, respite care for yourself or a little help for someone building independence, it starts the same way: a conversation with a local person who listens first.
Four steps
No packages and no pressure. Here is what actually happens.
Tell us what’s going on, what has become difficult and what would make things easier. That is all you need to bring. Call, text, email or send the form, whichever is easier for you.
We talk through priorities, schedules, preferences and what kind of support actually makes sense. Sometimes that is a few hours a week. Sometimes it is more. The plan reflects real life in your household, not a package off a shelf.
We work to match caregivers with the individual, household and situation. Personality, routine and comfort all matter, and we pay attention to them. If something is not working, tell us and we will adjust.
Support can grow, decrease or shift as needs and routines change. A recovery ends, a schedule moves, a family caregiver needs more of a break. We adjust with you, without starting over.
The first conversation
Many families tell us they waited longer than they needed to because they were not sure what to ask for. You do not have to know. Here is how it goes.
Gathering information is a perfectly good reason to call. Nobody will push you toward a decision, a start date or a schedule you are not ready for.
Tell us what has become harder at home, and we help you think through the options, whether that turns out to be homemaker services, respite for a family caregiver, help after surgery at home or something in between.
A few hours a week is a real starting point. Plans change, and it is easier to adjust support that is already in place than to wait for the perfect moment.
Common questions
Often within a few days of the first conversation, depending on the schedule you need and finding the right caregiver match. If something changed suddenly, such as a hospital stay or a family caregiver who needs a break right away, tell us and we will work with that.
No. Some families start with a few hours a week and adjust from there. We will be honest about what a given schedule can realistically cover, but you are not signing up for a package.
Tell us. Matching is something we work at, and it is not always right on the first try. We will listen to what is not working and find a better fit, and you will not have to explain your situation all over again to a new office.
One conversation is enough to get started. Tell us what is going on at home, and we will take it from there.
